Poem #2

Do they like me? I am too short? What am I going to wear? zzzzzz
I’m Exhausted!

I’m tired of trying to figure out

Who I am in all this confusion

Of our disillusioned society.

Who’s who -what’s what?

Keeping up with the Jones’s

Creeping to find out the latest

Playing the name game when I don’t even

Know my name.

I’m tired of the grin and trying to win

The company of my peers

Who really cares?

If they like me –or not.

I’m tired of forcing to fit in

With my fake Jordans, weave, and Gucci bags

That sags- and for what?

To prove that I’m in the know?

For show?

Nah man- this ain’t me

Takes too much energy

I’M EXHAUSTED!

Poem #5

Life

Life is a journey,

A never –ending roller coaster of emotions

That makes you a strong ox

Or a weak ant

Life is a teacher

Of many unforgettable lessons

You either pay attention – learn from it

Or falter and continuously claw your way through

Life is life

What can you do –but make it your own

It’s up to you.

Poem #6

I’m down in the dumps-

I’m not feeling pretty today

Tsk, Tsk -What’s wrong?

Just put me on.

How would you make me feel better?

I’ll glide across your lips

Dance around the curve and the dips

Bringing dazzle all the way to the tipitty -tips

You can draw a line around me

I f that’s what you choose

I come in striking strawberry,

Plumping passion fruit, and mildly minty jubilee

Pick any one, you really can’t lose

Take me out your purse, you’ll see

I’ll saunter across those smackers of yours-

And poof –YOU ARE PRETTY!

wind blowing,

waves splash,

tourists laughing,

children swimming …check

towel’s spread,
